El Puente de Celina and the City of Celina have come together this year to bring you our annual Cinco de Mayo festival. Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). The festival includes authentic Mexican food/dances, games, contests, kids area, raffle and shopping. This a day full of fun for the whole family. Cinco de Mayo is our main fundraiser and all net proceeds go towards college scholarships. Our first scholarship will be awarded this year by Mayor, Jim Lewis and Dago Rodriguez, President of El Puente on the evening of the event.
